Maneck Tandon

Maneck Tandon, a qualified lighting designer from Germany, is a partner at ATPL and leads the Lighting design team. Intrigued by light, Maneck has always strived to integrate light into all his designs. He believes when used intelligently it can transform spaces and perceptions. Maneck is passionate about light. He recognizes the need to look beyond the traditional quantitative approach to a more holistic outlook integrating aesthetics, functionality, environmental and economic considerations, while evoking a sense of identity, security, positivity and community in people.

Lighting Design for him is as much about darkness as it is about light. Maneck’s foray into lighting design has been a natural progression. Armed with a bachelors in Architecture and a degree in Photography. He started his career working in the fields of architecture and product design. his quest for knowledge led him to persue his Masters in Architecture from the Mackintosh School of Architecture, Glasgow School of Art, Scotland, UK. After completing his degree he worked in London before moving back to India. In the course of his career Maneck has worked on projects in Asia, Europe and Africa.

After coming back to India he realized there is a dearth of good qualified lighting designers. This realization eventually led him to pursue a second masters - Masters in Architectural Lighting and Design Management, from Hoschule Wismar, Germany. Maneck enjoys giving back to the design fraternity and teaches Lighting Design as a visiting faculty at SPA, Delhi.
