Work whilst at Foster + Partners

The design is inspired by the landscape and the local architecture - windows act as a contemporary interpretation of the deep windows of the Engadin valley. The roof has been carefully designed to combine renewable energy generation systems, arranged on angled surfaces to avoid snow accumulation, while allowing daylight to enter the deepest parts of the building.

Most of the daylight into the space is the result of diffused daylight coming in from the skylights as well as borrowed daylight from the surrounding spaces. The orientation and shape of the windows will create brightness on the inner dome surface opposite to the openings.
